Sister school in Tanta

The school was very good and well equipped.
Students met their host families last night and everyone was nervous and excited. We spent time this morning getting their impressions of their first night, and all reported that the families fed them enormous meals, loved looking at their scrapbooks, and most of them talked until midnight, when they were forced to go to sleep. Today at school, the students attended one-hour Arabic and Egyptian culture class taught by a teacher from the school. They played basketball and volleyball with their host siblings.

Party in Egypt

We decided to have a party in Egypt before our departure to say thanks for our sister 's school staff and the host families. Each of our students sat on a table with his host family. Both students and siblings took lots of pictures. Two of my students gave a wonderful presentation in Arabic about our school and the Arabic program in CGS. We spent a wonderful night full of deep, warm feelings. Americans saw how friendly were the Egyptian people. The Egyptian families saw Americans as civilized and nice people. It was good that each part saw the other away from stereotypes.

Goodbye Egypt

On Saturday 27th february, we left Tanta to go to Cairo airport. It was strange but amazing to see both American and Egyptian students crying while saying goodbye to each other. Students became friends that they promised to write to each other. We took our plane back to USA. We arrived NewYork at 7:.30 am we returned to Norwalk at 9 am. Families were waiting for their kids.It was nice to hear kids telling their parents how they enjoyed themselves in Egypt. During classes, I gave my students a chance to tell other students about their experience in Egypt.

Going to Aswan

We took the train from luxor at 10:30 in the morning. It took us three hours and half to reach Aswan. After we arrived Aswan, We went to the hotel which is overlooking the Nile. After we had lunch, we took about for 45 minutes to go to the Nubian village. There, My students rode camels. We visited a Nubian school where the teacher gave us an idea about the Nubian language. We visited a Nubian house where my students( girls) made henna on their hands. Other students( boys) enjoyed drinking tea . We visited crocodiles' house where I and my students put the crocodile on our heads. At last, my students asked me to help them buying some spices. We made good shopping. We went back to our hotel. Then we had dinner in a restaurant by the Nile.We went to bed early because we are leaving for Abu Simbel at 2:30 am.

Back to Cairo

Students had breakfast in the morning. Some of them went to the swimming pool . The others went to their rooms to pack or to do their homework. We left the hotel at 12:30 pm to go to the airport. We took a plane to Cairo. As the airport in Cairo was full of planes , we had to go to alexandria. We spent in Alexandria 40 minutes, then we were allowed to go back to cairo. We reached Cairo in the evening. We had dinner in a restaurant, then we went to our hotel.
