Armenia
Since 1996, AC Armenia has implemented more than a dozen programs, providing 1,400 high school and university students, educators, and faculty members with opportunities to study, research and gain professional skills. At the same time, dozens of American students, scholars, and professionals have traveled here to learn Armenian or other regional languages, conduct academic research, take part in reciprocal visits, or participate in professional internships.
Our office has close working relationships with the U.S. Embassy, Peace Corps, and local universities.
Featured Programs
Study Abroad: There are several opportunities for American students and professionals to study and train in Armenia. Scholarships are currently available for American students to intern in Armenia in June 2019 through the USA Study Abroad Engagement Grant. Our office also works with Lehigh University and Warren Wilson College for customized programs, as well as the Overseas Professional and Intercultural Training Program, a six-week, English-language internships for students and professionals.
Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) program: High school students from Europe, Eurasia, and Central Asia earn competitive scholarships to live and attend school in the United States for an academic year. FLEX is currently the largest program supported by AC Armenia, with more than 1,000 alumni. Staff, alumni, and other partners help to promote the merit-based exchange to eligible students, including those living in remote villages.
EducationUSA: Part of the EducationUSA worldwide network, this academic advising center averages hundreds of monthly visitors to its resource library and group presentations about pursuing higher education in the United States. The fall and spring fairs attract more than 1,500 students annually. Individuals can also request one-on-one consultations to learn more about scholarships and different pathways to higher education, including community colleges.
