Kosovo American Education Fund (KAEF) Receives Support from KOSTT

American Councils is excited to announce a new partnership between KOSTT and the Kosovo American Education Fund (KAEF). Evetar Zeqiri, CEO of KOSTT, and Gjeni Shporta, Country Director of American Councils Kosovo, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further KAEF’s mission.

KOSTT, responsible for Kosovo’s electricity transmission system, has pledged financial support to advance KAEF’s objectives. This commitment underscores KOSTT’s dedication to enhancing educational and professional opportunities, and they call on other public enterprises and companies to contribute to initiatives that foster skills essential for Kosovo’s economic and social development.

“Supporting the academic and professional development of young people is an investment in Kosovo’s human capital,” stated Mr. Zeqiri on the importance of KOSTT’s commitment to KAEF. “We believe that well-educated and trained youth will be the pillars of future development, bringing new knowledge and perspectives that will help build a brighter future for our country."

As KAEF celebrates its 20th anniversary, the KAEF community and American Councils express profound gratitude to KOSTT for their ongoing support in expanding educational opportunities for Kosovars.

Since 2004, the Kosovo American Education Fund has awarded graduate fellowships for master’s level studies at top U.S. universities, equipping Kosovo’s future leaders with the knowledge and tools needed for the country’s economic development. Over 100 Kosovars have participated in KAEF, with alumni going on to serve as government ministers, ambassadors, senior advisers, and entrepreneurs. KAEF graduates have managed development projects worth over $88 million and established numerous successful businesses, all committed to Kosovo’s social and economic prosperity.
